Hi,

Any Nikon V1 owners had this problem?

My Dad owns one and when trying to switch the camera on, all that happens is couple of led's flash on (So I know that theres power going to the device) but nothing else happens. No lcd display & it won't take a picture. :bang:

Tried the usual, taking the battery out, removing and replacing the lens, tried connecting to a PC but doesn't show up in My Computer etc

I think it may be a repair job......

Just asked him and he says that the battery's fully charged

It's not that then :)

Sorry to sound obvious, but you have to press and hold the ON button for a second or so.

Pressing the Display button can switch off the rear LCD and the EVF, maybe he could try pressing the Display button incase it's defaulting to off?

And my 2nd idea, is there dust or grease infront of the EVF sensor? Maybe the camera thinks there's a face infront of the LCD and switching it off.

Good luck.

I'll ask him to give that a try..... thanks

Turns out that the camera was working through the viewfinder but the lcd screen is faulty....

His camera's now in for repair !

Hey, just read your post. I have Nikon V1 and am having LCD issues. Have tried everything, like cleaning the sensor, etc, but it still will only go to the LCD when initially powered up. As soon as I go to the EVF, it won't go back to the LCD....
So, I'm thinking it needs to go into the shop? Drag... Thanks for the post. I love the camera just a little less right now.
