Nikon 17-35 f2.8

Anyone on here using the Nikon 17-35 for landscape stuff.Im looking at changing some equipment around and looking at either the 16-35 or 17-35 Nikon lenses.I read a review saying it was soft in the corners.I know it should get better the more its shut down etc but I will also be wanting a lens for stars etc and would want to be shooting wide open and this im hoping is better than the 16-35 at f4..Anyone care to comment or post a few examples up showing the corners at various f numbers.
