Hello all,
I recently bought the above lens off eBay second hand and initially it was causing me problems so I returned it for a replacement, no problem there.
The problem persists though and it is this; the lens intermittently refuses to autofocus on distant subjects on focal lengths of approximately 35mm and less but seems to perform ok in all other situations.
My D5000 is less than a year old and has no problems with any other lens (the kit lens is a 18-55mm and has no problem in the same focal lengths), I have taken it to a Nikon engineer who is stumped and has also been in touch with Nikon UK who are also at a bit of an impasse without seeing it in the flesh so to speak.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
