Nikon 18-200 talk to me

Hello all after some of your help, I have at the moment a 70-300 sigma lens, a 35mm Nikon lens and the kit lens which is 18-55, I dont really use the two other lenses and seem to stick to the 18-55 but would like more zoom still with a crisp shot. So I have been looking at this range of lens can you recommend a good one or something similar to the 18-200 my camera is a Nikon D60. I guess I'm looking for a lens that I can just keep on that covers most shots, thanks for any help and advise

18-105vr is a good lens and quite cheap.
18-200vr gets variable reviews (I like mine but there's a few haters too!) but the zoom range is very flexible.
There's also a sigma 18-250 and a Tamron 18-270 which are apparently on a par with the Nikon.

People are positively raving about the new Nikkor 28-300 if you can live with the loss of the wide end. The samples I've seen on flickr look razor sharp.

I have the 18-200 VR, its a love/hate relationship tbh. It's a bit soft at either end but is a good walk about lens, only lens I used on holiday this year. It's not great in low light, hence I've ordered the Tamron 17-50 2.8 today. All in all, I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon though.

I don't do much in the way of 'walking about', but when I do it's the only lens I take with me and it does what I want.
