I've been reading good things about the VRII version of this lens, seems right up my street as a great DX allrounder. Will revert to primes where possible for optimum image quality, but for my type of shooting (automotive, mostly editorial for this lens) this could be nigh perfect (in the absence of 24-70 funds)....
Would be interested to read your experiences. I'd rarely use the lens beyond 150, but if it stays good out there then thats a bonus. Any statics would be tripod @ mid range F stop so I'd like to think it'd be sharp and distortion free, but retaining quality right through to wide open would be very desirable too of course!! I understand the VRII system is very good too - that could be very useful to smooth out panning shots in active mode and tracking shots from moving vehicles, possibly as slow as 1/15......
Thoughts? Any alternatives I should consider? (Happy to look at non-Nikon as long as image quality is there....)
