Thinking of going full frame with a new D610. Anybody got any feedback on the lens above for landscapes as my current wide angles nikon 17-55mm and tokina 11-16 will have to go also.

Looking forward to your honest opinions

By all accounts its a fantastic little lens for the money, every bit as sharp as the 16-35, the only things you lose between the two is VR, constant minimum aperture, nano crystal coating and an extra 2mm on the wide end. It's lighter too.

The 18-35 seems to be an unpopular lens with lens snobs! I had the non-afs version and found it to be great. I liked it so much I traded it in on the afs model which I like even more - not so flare prone, and it has the instant manual focus override.

I don't know first hand how it compares to the 16-35 in terms of images, but it's not too far behind the 14-24 or the 17-55. It's compact, light and (IMO) excellent value for money.
