Nikon 18-35mm Wide angle

Hi I use a D7000 and looking for a wide angle lens. I came across to this lens which i can get hold of for around £180 used.

I know my camera is crop sensor so I won't get that full wide 18-35mm. The only lens i got in my kit is the 18-70mm which i can get that little wide on the 18.

I was wondering are their any real benifit of buying this 18-35mm wide angle? image quality wise?

Also I'm not ruling out of getting a Full Frame body in the future so i guess that 18-35mm can be use on Full Frame right?
 
Hi badboy, ive used it on a FF D700 and D3S and for the price its outstandingly good quality, not used it on a crop body so cant say for that but on FF its the best value wide angle there is
 
There's no point in getting if for a crop body sensor - may as well just use an 18-55 kit lens which is a much more useful range and not much lost in IQ (if any).

I've got one for my D700 and it's great, it's never been anywhere near my crop bodies.

edit: re-reading your post I'd say there is no reason whatsoever for you to get one, IQ of you 18-70 will match the 18-35 but has an extra 35mm!
