Yes
Just gone to use my camera today and it won't autofocus, the motor doesn't seem to be working. The rest of the lens works fine, af points etc and m/f works ok :'( Tried my 55-200 and that works a/f fine.

Will check warrenty later, I'm pretty sure it's 1 year. If I can't claim on the insurance and it's cost a lot to repair might get another lens.

Is this any good?

It's out of warrenty. Got repair quote of £70, therefore I can't claim on photoguard.

Think I will wait for a sigma 17-70 2nd hand, seem a good buy as mentioned in another post.

Yep good lens. Better than the kit one for sure.

Haven't accidentally knocked the a/m switch have you?

or...if u just want a like-for-like replacement i should have my kit lens available very soon!

No I haven't knocked the switch!

Kman, will keep an eye out in for sale section.

Emailing photoguard again, could really do with resolving it soon.

just a thought, i had a problem like this a few years ago. a friend said get as much silica gel as possible. put it and the lens in a plastic bag and seal it.

1 week later and lens worked.

howerver, its nikon .... so dont hold much hope hahaha

good luck

Can't see how that would make it work, not like it's been stored in a garage.

Are they unreliable or something compared to other brands?

Right options

1.) Get the lens repaired for around £70

2.) Drop the lens and claim for the cost of a new one (be it another identical lens or a different one) on insurance (although I have spoken to them to clarify what could be claimed for, I just said it was broken)

3.) Keep it as a spare and buy a similar lens
sigma/tamron 17-50 2.8.
