Nikon 200/500 stuck zoom

Morning, I went to retract my 200/500 to put it away.it went to about 300mm and then stopped, i then extended it to 500mm and brought it back.it is now stuck at just over 200mm and won't budge.Does any body know if this can be fixed without sending it back to Nikon?Any help/thoughts would be appreciated, many thanks,Andy.

I was hoping for a how he fixed it or did he just get rid of the lens

Hello Phil, I tapped the lens with my hand and it gradually released. It now zooms back and forth but doesn't lock at 200mm. I have no problems with focus ,stabilisation,or image quality. So not locking at 200mm a small price to pay.
