Nikon 200mm Micro-Nikkor.

Does anyone have any experience of the manual focus AIS version of this lens? I've read mixed reviews on the web, and am considering buying one.

I am trying to get more reach than the 50mm Sigma that I use now, althogh I am happy with the quality.



I'm trying to avoid spending more than £300 much as I would like the 105mm vr.
Does anyone have any alternatives?

I had it and hated it!

It only goes to 1:2 not 1:1, unless you use a 2x TC which then gives you naff all light!

I'd get the Sigma 105mm - I like mine a lot.

Thanks for that, it's good to have first hand advice. I'm watching a Sigma 105 f2.8D on ebay at the moment so will see how that goes.
