After reading many reviews I'm still stuck. Does anyone have experience of the Nikon AF 20mm f/2.8D and the Nikon AF 24mm f/2.8D? I just need it as a backup to the wide end of my 24-70.
No experience of the Nikkor 24mm but I did have a Sigma 24mm F1.8 for a while which was good but I'm not too keen on that focal length, much prefer 28mm.
I've got a 20mm F2.8 that I like a lot, seems sharp enough and is nice and compact, especially compared to a 24-70 or 28-70. Mine is second hand and seems to grind a bit, and that isn't uncommon apparently.
I've had good copies of both, preferred the 24mm, seemed marginally sharper across the frame but not much in it really. The 24mm seemed to be built better as well, the 20mm was a bit 'looser' and more rattly.
