Has anyone used both & cares to comment:shrug:

I know the Nikon lens will/should be better, but by how much does the difference warrant nearly double cost? I use the sigma version on 1 of my bodies, & am wondering whether an upgrade to the nikon glass is a worthwhile upgrade or not?:shrug:
 
The Nikon 24-70 is a lens I am looking to buy next, so will follow this with interest.
I am a fan of Nikon lenses, especially the pro range. The build quality is way above 3rd party lenses IMHO.Image quality is also fantastic on the Nikons.
A friend of mine has a couple of Sigmas and TBH I'm not all that impressed by them. One of the lenses he has is the 3rd copy he's tried in order to get a sharp copy. It wasn't the 24-70 though.
 
I have used both and was relatively happy with the IQ of the Sigma ... until I used the Nikon! My Sigma was a good copy but from what you read there must be loads of poor 24-70's out there!
I guess it depends on what you want to do with the lens, if you really want to bring out the best in your images then Nikon is the way to go; if on the other hand you think a pic is a pic, is a pic then stick with what you have.
Quite honestly the difference with Pro Nikon glass is quite noticeable.
