Nikon 24 f2.8 D.....

I had one and found it sharp and contrasty at 2.8, this was on a D700 so a higher pixel density D7000 could be more demanding of it.
 
Sigma do a 24mm f1.8 that might be worth considering too.
 
I wasn't massively impressed with mine, though I didn't hate it either. They feel very cheaply made (all these Nikon AF-D primes look and feel horrible to me) and I thought the IQ was just okay, certainly nothing special. If you after a prime for spanking good IQ vs. a zoom alternative, I don't think this is it. It will of course save a huge amount of load lugging vs any 2.8 zoom though. As an alternative, I preferred the manual focus AIS version which should also work out cheaper but is of course useless if you want AF.
