well as title really.
just wandering what experience of these lenses any of you have and are they a good " walk around "lens

want something i can leave on the camera when out with the family, rather than keep swapping lenses

Not sure if the Tamron 28 300 has been updated recently but I used to have one a few years ago and was pleased to see it go. I made the mistake of chopping in a pair of kit lenses that I had bought with my F65 and should have realised that there was a good reason that the kit was with 2 lenses rather than a single lens. It may well have been a poor copy but I have a feeling that it wasn't a very good lens either. Sold it fairly quickly and by that time had bought a D70 with the (great!) 18-70 kit lens and a 70-300 VR.
I now have FF DSLRs along with the D70 and the D70 now has another Tamron "superzoom" on it, this time an 18-270. Seems a lot better than the older one was but may well get traded in against an 18-200 or 18-300 Nikkor if they'll AF happily on a V-1 (the Tamron doesn't.)
