Nikon 28mm 1.8G

Has anyone used this lens? I had a quick go in the shop the other day and it seemed good quality and much lighter than the alternatives.

It's probably a little out of my price range right now but I'm thinking of the 28mm over the similar quality 35mm(which is sold out here). It will probably partner my 50mm in my bag when I travel .

Any thoughts?

Excellent lens, I use it a lot and had both that one and the 35mm at one point. Both excellent, sharp and flare-resistant (the 35mm amazingly so) but I preferred the flexibility of the 28mm as you can crop to a 35mm perspective with a slight sacrifice in DOF, with the 35mm on I sometimes wished I had the 28mm on instead.

Cracking lens. 28/1.8, 50/1.8, 85/1.8. Job done.

That's how I've been lately. Love 35mm but I've been wanting something a bit wider recently and the 28mm seems to fit the bill!

I have it. Lovely optic imo. I need wider and am debating getting the 20 as well and keeping the 28 or selling the 28 and getting something like a 16-35 or 18-35 ...
