Yes
Has anyone managed to compare these two lens in the real world on a D700?

Looking for a prime to sit in-between my Nikon 20mm and Nikon 50mm primes. Logic says the 35mm as its bang in the middle but I like doing landscapes so might use 28mm a bit more than 35mm. Also the price is quite a bit more for the 35mm as its f/2.

I haven't used either, but I get the impression from others that the 35mm f2 is the superior lens. The 28mm seems the weakest of them all from 20mm-50mm...

I had a 35 f2, was great on my d700, had quite heavy vignetting at f2 but was easily sorted in post. One thing for sure, it's a very very sharp lens. Only reason for selling was I got the nikon 24-70.

I can vouch for that as I bought your 35mm f2 and mighty fine it is too  On checking, I realised I hadn't left feedback so many apologies for that, I was sure I had! Feedback belatedly left!

Another  for the 35 f/2. An amazingly sharp, relatively cheap and light lens to have.

There are times when I just don't want the hefty weight of the 24-70, and this one comes in really nicely.

I've decided on the 35mm option. Ordered, shold be with me tomorrow ready for my trip next wek.

I've one arriving today too. Really looking forward to playing with it.
