No
does any body have experience with the above combination ?
the serial number of the lens states that it is the N version ( production date 89 / 90 ) iv'e been scouring Google for an answer but have not found a definite answer yes or no if the two are compatible

if anybody has first hand knowledge or knows which is the right teleconverter for that lens i would be grateful for your input

thanks

thanks gary

iv'e already had a look at that page but i cant really make much sense of the production numbers the production batch of the above lens is from 300001 - 312806 and the lens has a N ( which i take to mean new ) added to it's product name
from what i can gather the lens is constructed the same as the previous version with only cosmetic differences ( production batch 200001 - 201624 )
the closest i can see on the list you posted is 1942 AF-I NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8D IF-ED which looks like it falls within the right production serial numbers if i'm reading them right but the description of the lens does not state it is a F2.8 N and there is a statement at the top of the page saying if the lens isn't listed the teleconverter won't fit ( you see where i'm going with this ) but this lens falls in to the middle of the production batch no of a lens they say will fit

dunno i can't work it out

thanks for the page though it made me have a closer look but still not sure :(

According to this the TC20 III is compatible with the lens so I would assume that the 1.4 must be. :)

thanks gramps

the closest lens on the list is the AF-I Nikkor 300mm f/2.8D IF-ED
again the N version is not listed
how important the N is on the lens and if the compatibility is the same is what i'm trying to find out but it seems to be not that easy
