Nikon 35mm 1.8 or 40mm 2.8

Off to Turkey in a couple of weeks and need to travel bit lighter this time.

I have both the Nikon 35mm 1.8 and 40mm 2.8 micro, I intend taking some landscapes, a few portraits of the locals "street photography etc...

Which would be the best lens out of these two to take? I know they are only small and I could take both but.... I don't want to.

I'd go with the 35mm just for the lower light capabilities.

....the 35 focuses pretty close, too - not macro, but if you're looking for subject isolation then the 35 delivers it in spades.

The 40's great trump card is the absolutely flat distortion profile. Of the two, the 35 is the walkaround lens, the 40 a more specialist lens [it'd be great for product and forensic shots].

The 35mm is a great all-rounder, id often go out with just that lens and never wish id brought any other with me. Its also ideal for street.
