I'll tell you the truth, this little beauty is the only reason I'm not switching back to Canon. It truly is a wonderful piece of glass for any money, let alone the pittance asked for it.
Would you have the 1.8 over the 1.4. Is the extra worth it

Something ultra-wide (No idea what)
Nikkor 17-55
Nikkor 70-300 (tempted by the 70-200 but this seems amazingly sharp for the money)
Nikkor 35 f1.8G or Sigma 50 f1.4
Nikkor 85mm f1.4D
Tokina 11-16 or samyang 8mm fisheye? perhaps... Or Sigma 10-20 f4 (? or which ever the older version was)
Did you meant the sigma 30mm f1.4? or the 50mm?
The23rdMan:
Sorry probably a stupid question but : 35mm f1.8 the 170ukp one from jessops isnt the f1.8g you've posted about here is it? I'm guessing that the G lens is a bit more costly? Just gonna browse for it now but thought I'd ask anyway
Edit:
Ok so it is the 170ukp one... my, my, my...![]()

I'm think of getting one of these for xmas... can't decided between this and the 50mm.

(sorry to double post btw)

Price has gone up a bit now.
Try Jessop, gone down to £164.95 + use Quidco and get an extra 3% off, picking mine up later![]()
Jacobs digital have it for £164.95 but anyone who purchased a D7000 recently will have gotten vouchers from Nikon (can be printed from their website) which gives £10 off this lens. For £154.95 I'm a very happy man!
How and where do you get the voucher?

This thread has become very llama-centric.
Hi Peter, you should have been sent a welcome pack from Nikon UK when you registered your D7000 for the 2 Year Warranty. I got a link as part of that email to a set of online vouchers I could print and use in store.
The only caveat is that the voucher can only be redeemed at the same shop you made your D7000 purchase.
If you didn't get one it might be worth contacting Nikon UK through their support website and asking why.
Just web chatted with nikon uk and they say they offer no vouchers directly from nikon but have to come from the shop you bought the camera at???
