Nikon 35mm f.18 backfocussing on D5000

Yes
Had a feeling for a while that something wasn't quite right with my 35mm as I seemed to miss focus on quite a few shots.

Just carried out a focussing test and it's backfocussing quite a bit, any ideas if I can fix it? I have a D5000 which doesn't have a adjustment option.

I auto focussed on the solid black line, single point focus, single shot, on tripod, with exposure delay on.

Mine does the same, although if i take the shot using liveview its fine, not sure why.

There is no micro adjust but I did read somewhere you can do not manually via some screws once you remove the lens.

I was not brave enough to do this and just stop the lens down slightly.

If you Goole it you might find it, I personally don't recommend doing it.

The alternative is to send both camera and lens off to be adjusted.

my 35mm is spot on focus is pin sharp every time however my sigma 18-50mm is a sack of **** and regually focus is out

:plusone:

Same problem - missed shots... had to use fine tune (D300) to +5 to get mostly back.

Had previously been with Fixation, so I sent it back and they are looking at it now.

Weirdly, when on a family members d3100 it seemed to focus properly... :/
Have to see when it gets back

Edit:
Just got it back this week - initial test seems to be spot on - will be trying it out over the weekend :) for Fixation
