hi all and thanks for reading.

I am having going to be attending some bellydance hafla's (parties), and was wondering if the nikon 35mm f1.4 would be ok for the low light available.
I will be quite close to the dancers so distance is not a problem.

It's the fastest 'cheap' leans you can get that will AF on your camera so without spending loads of cash it's your best option :)
 
Well it's a little wider which may or may not help, depending on how far you are from the action - the extra speed will help a little although you'd need to be careful about depth of field at 1.4 - you'll probably want to be shooting at above 2 anyway.

Personally, I'd get the Nikon as the price of the Sigma is almost double (the Nikon will hold it's value better too) and use auto ISO to allow for the low light.
