nikon 35mm f1.8 DX v Samyang 35mm f1.4 and others

im looking for some info regarding comparisons on the following 2 lenses

Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX retailing around £180 ish

Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC retailing around £340

i appreciate these are 2 different beasties and my original choice to purchase was the Nikon as it has reasonable reviews and then the Samyang came along recently,twice the price but with the extra stop,has anyone had the chance to review the samyang and previously used the Nikon,can you give your opinions on these 2 or any similar at a price nor exceding the samyang

any info/advise appreciated

Well, the Samyang is a manual focus lens, if that matters to you and it is pretty beasty compared to the diddy 35mm.

What about the Sigma 30mm 1.4, it's meant to be pretty damn good.

im not massively bothered by the manual focus on the samyang, as i have several Ai-Ais lenses which often out perform my a/f lenses.though it is a shame it doesnt a/f. as far as the nikon and samyang and any other including the Sigma 35mm f1.4,im more concerned with image quality as well as being on a tight budget

those of you that have done a comparison,your advise/experience is appreciated

The Samyang performs impressively well in the photozone.de review. If it's as good at f/1.4 as they suggest, then it's worth the money.
