want to buy a nikon 50mm f1.8.
was wondering what the difference is between this model:

From Nikon website for the D80 Compatible Lenses

1) Type G or D AF NIKKOR: All functions supported

2) DX AF NIKKOR: All functions supported except FX-format (36x24)/5:4 (30x24) image size

3) AF NIKKOR other than type G or D*2: All functions supported except 3D Color Matrix Metering II

4) AI-P NIKKOR: All functions supported except autofocus and 3D Color Matrix Metering II

The AF-D is that cheap these days, especially second hand, that you'd be mad not to get one.

i have one for my d80 n it gets used sometimes but the rest of the time it stays in the bag but its there if ever i need it,and its handy to stick in your pocket. and for the price the IQ is awsome. here are a couple of shots from my 50mm 1.8 af-d mounted on the d80.

iv just bought the 1.8 and for the price its a cracking little lens, iv only had chance to play internally with it at the minute but i would recomend it.
