My old budget Nikon 55-200 has started hunting and generally struggling to focus. Cleaned contacts, but it sounds dodgy too. The best way I can describe it is it sounds 'rattly' as it tries to focus. And today, when I tried it again, it started squeaking 
The focus wheel mouse might be getting old 
I suspect it's days are numbered? I'll pop up to WEX this afternoon to see what they think, but I doubt it will be worth repairing given it's low value.
Of course, I could keep it and just use it on MF. But these budget Nikon lenses have rubbish focusing rings.
