Hi,

I'm Looking to get a budget macro lens and came across one of these Nikon 60mm f2.8 AF-D Macro, old lens, second hand for £220.
The questions are: has anyone used one of these? is it worth it? can also I use it as a portrait lens as well? or shall just wait and get a sigma 105mm Macro instead.

This to be mounted on a D300s by the way.

Many thanks,
Kardo

Another option is the very highly rated tamron 90mm 2.8, just to throw another option into the equation ;) It's about 230 on onestop iirc...

Thanks, I just checked and they are out of stock, but that is a very good option actually just read some reviews and seems to be a good lens.

Elsewhere is over £350, Why is it so cheap on onestop? are they reliable?

on a crop i'd say 105 is a bit too long imho

i'd go for the 60 :) that said i've never used the 60 so i don't know what'd be perfect :)
