Nikon 70-200 VR i - serviceability

I am going about this a bit backwards.... I have just ordered a 70-200 vr i, and I was curious if anyone knew the current serviceability of this lens? I.e. is it still repairable, I am aware that the 80-200 afs is no longer repairable and hoping this has some service life left in it! Otherwise, I'll send it back!

Yes it’s still serviceable. It’s a great lens for a good price now days. I still use mine lots
 
I think it depends on which parts are needed and how long you are prepared to wait. My Mk 1 fell from motor bike and needed parts that were on back order and it would have been about 10 weeks to repair. Nikon then sold me a MK 2 version for the cost of the repairs which was about £500 and they kept the damaged lens.
