Best deal I got on my 24-70 was from another contributor on here STUART from DIGITAL DEPOT. Give him an email as he is to NIKON what Kerso is to Canon. STUART'S stuff is all all genuine UK Nikon stock as he is a proper Nikon dealer!

Are you looking for a VR model or the new VR2 model? I found a seller with a VR model at £1385 yesterday.

I too am setting up a fund for the new Nikon 70-200 VR2, and hoping to get it before VAT goes up again in Jan.

Have you seen the comments circulating on other forums on the VR2's reduction of focal length at lower range focal points?

Some claim the 200mm end becomes 128mm at closest focus.
