Your 90 has a built in focusing motor for the older style nikon lenses (pre AFS) so it will focus all AF lenses.

I used to have one of these. Couldn't wait to get rid of it. It's soft and the focussing is rubbish. It hunts all over the place.

Its not for me, its for my son who's just about to get his first DSLR and on a very tight buget, so I offered to buy it for him to get started.

for started, get him the 28-80 AF-G too
