Nikon 7200 nowwhich lens

Hi guys. Ive been Canon user all my life for pleasure and in my business. I changed equipment for Fujifilm XT1's a while ago. I am now shooting recreationally and given Ive just got another puppy lol that's 3 dogs I want to have a rethink of my equipment. Ive never really been in love with the Fuji. I want to get down to one camera so I can enjoy both hobbies, walking my dogs and photography. Although Ive never used a Nikon I like the look of the 7200 and given the offer of free grip that and its features suit me fine. I'm not a prime user so want a good walkabout zoom so any recommendations. At moment I was looking at the body and 18-105mm bundle. No experience with Nikon lenses so much appreciate some advice.
 
If you're wanting to stay with Nikon lenses then consider the Nikon 10-24 or the 12-24. If considering third party lenses then look at the Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 or the Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 mk2. Both great lenses from what I've seen.
 
I was a Nikon user for 3 years - had a D90 with the 16-85 VRII. The lens was really good and my other half now uses it with her D5200. I don't know what the 18-140 is like, but given the choice of 18-105 and 16-85 I would go with the latter - it received some pretty good reviews on Photozone.de and SLRGear. You might also appreciate the extra 2mm at the wide end.
 
I have just bought a D7200 to use with longer primes - wanted 600mm hand held at f5.6 ........ so it will only be used for that purpose

but the D7200 is small and compact for a DSLR ...... if you want to keep it like that, go for primes ....... the Sigma 10 20mm is quite a big lump ...... it is a good lens, (I had one for a few years) ..... but big and heavy

The 50mm f1.8 is really light, very good and inexpensive, in fact it is a steal at the price, and gives you 75mm for portraits............. if you are into "wide" shots have a look at the wider primes ........ (and there weight)

Thank you but think definitely decided to go with the longer zoom as I know myself and Ill just be frustrated if I don't. I don't want to be constantly having to change lenses while walking 3 dogs

If you want a longer zoom - get a 70mm 300mm f4.5/f5.6 VR ... buy it used ....... remember it is a DX sensor, so multiply by 1.5 to get what some call equivalent FX focal length

Thank you. Small and compact is just what I'm after but never been keen on primes. I'll have a look at the Nikon wide zoom but I loved the Sigma 10-20mm when I did have it. Are you pleased with the D7200? Ive been used to Canon 5DMK3's

Only had my D7200 for a day and just bought it for a specific purpose, (7200 + 300mm PF + TC14Ell)....... I would think that I'll still prefer my D750 most of the time ........ I shoot mostly with 300mm to 600mm primes ...... (I've never liked zooms)

I have never shot Canon DSLR's .. always Nikon
