Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D tele-convertors

Hi ... which genuine Nikon or other pro quality tele-convertors fit the Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D lens .. ?

looking for a 1.7x or 2x ...

Just the Kenko one - the Nikon ones (the current ones anyway, not sure about the really old ones) don't fit....

as noted, go with kenko. i purchased one only to find out it didnt work on the afd lens.

what is picture quality like on the Kenko 2x convertor ?

i did have the 1.4x kenco but didnt really benefit from its slight magnification increase ..

never had an issue with my 120-300, 100-300, 70-200 with either 1.4x or 2x TC

I just prefer to use them with primes - e.g. 300mm f/4

70-200 plus 2x and 100-300 plus 2x. Will never be perfect but should not be put off when budget is the deal beaker.

I didn't like the 1.4x Kenko 300 Pro on the 80-200, it didn't feel like a great fit and I wasn't all that impressed with the image quality either, and I would imagine the 2.0 version would be worse...
