First of all, this is my first post here... Hello!

I'm a Nikon D60 user, and recently I've been looking into picking up a remote (probably the ML-L3) and a cheap tripod (10-30 quid preferrably) to help me with a few projects.

I've been shopping around and seen some decent deals on Amazon.co.uk (naturally), including the ML-L3 for £14 and an average-looking tripod for £13 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-00004161-Star-61-Tripod/dp/B0000WXD0W/ref=pd_cp_ce_1).

Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions for better value, reliable sites for buying Nikon accessories, or any suggestions for a better quality/value tripod. It's very hard to tell from first appearances how reliable a lot of the sites out there are, but some of the advertised prices are enticingly low!

Thanks.

Hi,as always it really depends on how much you're prepared to spend!

£14 for the genuine ML-L3 remote is about right - Third party ones on ebay for £4. (UK seller) Can't comment on reliability though.....

I bought my "pikey spec" Velbon CX640 tripod (vgc) on ebay for £11!
Nowhere near the best but fine for my needs.....

For genuine Nikon accessories I would try Digital Depot, one of the advertisers on here.

welcome
try and buy the biggest sturdy tripod you can afford/carry/pack cos it is so nice to have a solid base when shooting in any wind

I got a used quality Manfrotto from "ffordes" for £60 with a 3-way head

have a look at the MN144 with head for £59
