Just been on to Aaduki for camera insurance (superb price by the way £25.90 per month for a £2100 laptop and £11K of equipment of which the laptop and any £6K out of the house at a time!) and had to list all my equipment which would cost more than £1000 to replace. The 80-200 although it did not cost me £1000 would cost £1800 to replace "new for old" because it would be the AFS70-200 f2.8 vr2 that I would have to be supplied with :)..... Anyway I have to supply the serial number of everything and cannot find the serial number on the 80-200 !!!!

Has anyone else got one of these beasties and can they tell me where it is on theirs. I don't know if it was on a sticker and has come off, whether it has been damaged and the part with the serial number was replaced or whether it has worn away!

cowasaki, thought they still produced the 80-200mm? May have to get a new for old policy if that's the case ;)

So how come you haven't 'accidentally' dropped it on the floor, and are sitting waiting for Mr Postman to deliver a 70-200 VRII?

Because I am honest and I like my lovely 80-200 :)
