Hi Guys and gals,
My 300/4 is non D. Sometimes when I use it, I get blown highlights. For instance, when I want a little fill flash in sunny or partly sunny conditions. I don't have access to a picture right now, but typical settings are Aperture priority, f4-f5.6, matrix metering, and -1.5 stops flash EC (SB-400). I don't have the same problem with my 55-200 af-s.
It seems like the flash is putting out too much power, which on the sb400 isn't adjustable other than via EC.
I'll post some pictures later when I get home.
