Nikon announce 800mm f/5.6

Is that price or weight - or both

The MF version that they stopped making in 2005 weighed in at around 5.45kg, so I would expect with the use of more modern material it will be a bit lighter, as for price the Canon version is around £9350, so in that area would be a guide as to what you need to save up :D

On the plus side, you would save on Gym membership by simply carrying that around instead. :D

well they could have just made it f2.8 while they were at it. Who would want an 800 f/5.6..

;)

Thanks
Rick

What is the problem with the weight? I used to hand hold my 300-800, granted, not for very long..........

May as well get the 400mm 2.8 and bolt the 2 x onto it. Best of both then.

Kev.
