The MF version that they stopped making in 2005 weighed in at around 5.45kg, so I would expect with the use of more modern material it will be a bit lighter, as for price the Canon version is around £9350, so in that area would be a guide as to what you need to save up

On the plus side, you would save on Gym membership by simply carrying that around instead.

well they could have just made it f2.8 while they were at it. Who would want an 800 f/5.6..

May as well get the 400mm 2.8 and bolt the 2 x onto it. Best of both then.
