Ney bother Stewart I have the 1.4 D version myself, it's a sharp as a sharp thing that's bally well sharp at 1.4.
I wonder how much of an improvement the new version is?
Thank you for the heads’ up on this; I hope that this will be the first of many many many lenses that Nikon plan to update.
I have been on the fens for a fast standard prime lens for a while, I guess December isn’t that far off. I will wait to see what else Photokina has to offer before I finalise my shopping list and head to my local store.
If only ... the current f1.4 goes for £170 from OneStop. I figure this one to be closer to the £200 mark; but still a very good price given that Sigma's f1.4 is over £300!
Much as I like my Siggy 105, I'd still rather have a Nikon lens over a Sigma one, the only trouble is that a new 50mm f/1.2 AI-S isn't much more and it's a proper old-skool metal lens too
