Hi all..

Have any of you Nikon owners (which I'm sure you have done) had your camera serviced by Nikon? I'm thinking of sending out one of cameras (D2x) to be serviced. Anyone know what is involved and I'm hoping they do a good job for the money.

I know it will be pricey but I have a work-horse of a camera and I use it for my photography job, so just need to make sure everything will be fine.

I would just like to know your views if that is okay :)

I had my f4s serviced by them many years ago, it cost a fortune but then it did have a few unstability issues and required several new pcbs, think it cost nearly £800 in the end! The service consisted of a stripdown, check of components, re-oiling of several bits, then replacing anything that was broken. Camera looked like new when I got it back as they'd changed the pentaprism cover too

I have had all my kit serviced there over the years - normally because it was in warranty, or being calibrated with kit that was in warranty. Or because they hold the spares that are needed for a quick turn around. They know how to charge top whack. Make sure you get a quote first, at least then you won't get a nasty suprise on your CC bill. If you have any problems, send it straight back for them to correct.
