There are a few cash backs around, presumably for Xmas

£175 cash back on the 14 24mm and 24mm 70mm f2.8's
 
Beware of some 'conditions' which apply to the Cash Back Card issued by Citibank, most of which is not in the Nikon advertising at all. You cannot get cash back on the card at an ATM, you have to purchase something. The Card attracts a monthly 'Account Management Fee', currently £2 per month but variable, if no purchases have been made after 6 months. If the card expiry date is reached and no extension has been requested before that date, Citibank help themselves to the entire balance. I have never experienced a credit balance being subject to Management fees before (seriously, what management?) and where the balance can be so easily lost. I am in the process of communicating with Nikon to get my management fees refunded and secondly, amended and additional wording placed into the promotional material and website pages.

So by all means take advantage of the cash back offers, but spend the money at the earliest opportunity. I note that all the other cash back offers by competitors involve the payment by cheque!

Thanks - I did not realise that - I just thought that you just received a cash refund of £175 on the lens I am interested in …….. I'll read the small print

Please also note the following:

  • Multiple claims are allowed, however each claim will be added to a new Visa© Prepaid Card.
  • A maximum of one claim can me made per person on each model included in the promotion.
  • For online purchases an order confirmation is not sufficient for a claim.

So is it a "cash back"

The last time I bought something with a "cash back" offer - I think it was from Canon, I got a cheque, so with this one you have to sign up for another credit card and effectively have to buy something to get you "cash back"???

I don't want another credit card, with a £175 credit balance, I just want money back

I did cashback on my D300s when I bought it, I had a prepaid VISA card like this, I think it was for £50. I just used it twice to pay for fuel to go on a photo trip, worked for me.
 
I had one of these cards, prefer cash, but bought shopping with it so no big deal for me
