Nikon Cash Backs or lower price before or after Xmas

Isn't everyone but I really am on a very tight budget!

I have decided on a new DSLR, a Nikon D3100 and with kit lens. Do you think there may be any cash backs soon, or that prices will drop either for Xmas or just after in the new years sales. Or is £399 (current price everywhere) going to stick around for a long time yet?
 
new prices for Nikon gear in the states from 16th onwards, lenses are going up but there are some cash back offers on bodies, dont know if the UK will follow.
However
when I bought my D90 I watched the price on Amazon and actually bought it on Boxing Day (2009) when it dropped dramatically in price, it then went back up some the following day.
After Xmas is usually a good time to buy as most people are skint and retailers will struggle more to sell non essential items.

It's been a tough year for most Japanese Camera company's, But when you build a plant on a flood plain, In an area that receives an annual monsoon, you need to expect the occasional flood.
No doubt they'll have it sorted soon enough, us westoners have Christmas coming soon!

Yep, in light of all this and assuming the D3100 isn't due to be replaced any time soon I can't see prices coming down dramatically. If anything, I would have thought things might go the other way.
