nikon converter

Hello,
I bought a 70-200 VR II lately (brilliant lens btw, worth every penny). I'm looking at the nikon tc3 2x converter to go on it for occasional wildlife pictures. I guess I'd be pleased with it. I'd like to know if it would be useful on a macro lens as well. How does it compare to extension tubes for example? Would I get a 2:1 ratio ?

You really need to check out whether the TC is compatible with the lens you have in mind. There are lots of lenses (incl. Nikkors) not compatible with Nikon TC's.

Yes the 2xTCIII is compatible.
