What do you think of the Nikon D2H? By todays standards, its very low resolution (but those pixies aren;t everything!).

Would you say its not got much use today, as even the D300s is faster than it, and offers 3x the resolution?

Do you notice the lack of detail?

Basically - there's one in the classifieds - would it be a wise move?
 
If your'e doing sports and have the lenses then its still OK, but you have limited scope for cropping if you haven't got the big guns.
 
hmm I see. You do notice the lack of pixels then? I do have a 600 AIS, but its not the lens I use all the time, mostly the 70-300 VR
 
Depends what you are going to do with it. Alamy wont accept images from the D2H, so if you want to shoot stock, then that camera is no good. However if you are shooting for a newspaper or just for web, then providing you never need to crop it should be ok.
 
The ISO performance is shocking, I just had a test of one in a shop, It was worst than the D60, which I thought was a bad for ISO noise,

There is a small cult following for the D2Hs I know AWP is a big fan of it, but I wouldn't bother with the D2H personally.

Correct - I'm a fan of the D2Hs - but the D2H is a different beast and not nearly so good. D2Hs is a fantastic camera still - will easily produce prints to 18" or so and I've had up to half pages in the press from it too. I have many shots on Alamy and other libraries from the D2Hs - they maybe don't know it's from one - but the pics are all approved and selling too. I repeat though - D2H is a different beast.
 
Wow I didn't know there was such a difference btween the 2! I thought they used the same sensor and processing technologies?
