I was just thinking the other day how well my Nikon batteriues have held up to prolonged use. I got my first D3 the day they were launched over here. I am still using the same battery in it and it lasts several shoots quite happily still - pretty good reliability I think. It has been up the Amazon, into the Arctic, through dust storms, monsoon rain, hail, freezing conditions - nothing fazes it and it just keeps soldiering on.
I love my D3 it is a solid workhorse that has become a friend. I have no intention of "upgrading" to a more modern computer filler. I don't need ISO 2 million - i actually wound it up to 1000 the other day when it was dull and 'orrid. First time I had used it that high in the 5 years I have had it.
