I've recently been getting the fEE error message when using a couple of lenses with aperture rings. I have checked the obvious, i.e. that the aperture rings are locked on the minimum aperture, as well as the AI coupling tab being intact. However I have noticed that there is a small amount of play in the aperture rings of the lenses when mounted on the camera and by twisting (tightening) the aperture ring slightly the error message disappears. Having trawled the internet for information it may be that there is a problem with the coupling but would appreciate any advice from others who may have encountered a similar problem.
Cheers
Les.

You may just need to clean the contacts on the lens and camera body with some alcohol cleaner. As the voltages used are very low and the slightest bit of hand grease or whatever will effect the conductivity on these contacts.

its a common thing with sigma lenses, i had it with a couple lenses in pentax mount.
Never heard that it is common, I have 4 sigma lenses and have never had it once, Personally, I would still put it down to dirty contacts.

its more common on pentax due to them reverse enginering the mount and i have had 3 sigma 170-500mm and they all did it
also my 70-200mm did it and also a friend has a 17-70mm which does it, its because there is play in the mount between the lens and body,
