So i am really into photography and i want a DSLR i know how to use one because i have used loads so i have narrowed it down to these two camera's that i want. All i really want to know is if it where going to buy one of these what one would it be?

thanks :)

Hi & Welcome

If you have tried loads, did you have a preferrance over feel / ease of use - this would probably be the deciding factor for me - I went down the Canon route.

Don't think you be disappointed with either, both are very similar and come out very closely in reviews/ tests - I seem to remember AP scored the Canon 90% and the Nikon 93%.

Do you have any friends or family with either make as you might be able to borrow / share lenses or accessories ??

Good luck with your search

The camera i have been taking pictures with is the D3000 predecessor the D60 so im sort of thinking the D3000 because i will know how to use it.

Thanks alot :)

Would be the obvious choice, one of my colleagues at work has been asking the same question - he's going down the D3000 route as his father has the D60.

I am becoming very much a Nikon fan so would probably go for that but my good friend has the same Canon you are looking at and its good to. I think you would be happy with whatever one you went for.

Your welcome :)

If your not in a desperate rush, might be worth holding off a short period and seeing if any deals come up for Christmas, the entry level cameras are very big business for the manufactorers (esp @ Christmas) as in general, most people won't change brands / manufactoers once they start off and as Christmas is coming up, these will be probably focussed on for presents, so they may do some extras to try to persuade people to buy

I am getting it for christmas i just wanted to know what one to get so i can do some research and not have to rush about closer to the time.

thanks
