Nikon D3000 or Canon EOS 450D?

You might have to wait for someone like puddle duck who seems to be very knowledgeable about such things.
I do not know anything about the EOS but a few weeks ago, I bought the D3000 for my granddaughter, she has moved up from a Canon P&S.
I bought her this because she can just use it on auto until she gets used to it.
I have had a little play and it came with a kit lens (cheap and nasty) but it sure delivers for a combo that only cost £350.
Best thing you can do is go to a store, try out both cameras, and see what feels right.

These are our two entry level training cameras so I have experience of both. At this price point Canon is way ahead, the 450d massively outclasses the 3000d in many ways, I suggest you try them both and read the reviews (or just buy one and blame me if you disagree!!)
