Nikon D3000

Hey Guys, I'm Looking at a Nikon D3000 for christmas and wondering if it's worth waiting until february to get the D5000, do any of you guys have an examples of images taken on any of these two camera's?
i know that the 5000 can shoot HD video and has 12megapixels, it also has live view which is a perk too but i shoot mainly portraiture and i'm still only young.
any suggestions?

Hi Luke,

What you have to ask yourself is: if you had the D3000 right now, would you use the extra functions that the D5000 offers :shrug:

If not then go with the D3000, else .....

If you wait until February then you will have wasted two months of picture taking opportunities :bonk:

I have the D3000 and find it to be really great I have put pictures up that I have taken with it.
