Nikon D3s. Does it have a sleep mode???

I was wondering if the D3s has a standby / sleep mode?

As far as i'm aware, they just sleep when not used for a minute or so, then a tap on the shutter brings it back to life. I've used a D3s briefly, and i think i saw something about it in the menu's. I'm sure it has something along the lines of sleep/standby!

where is it, only i charged my battery up, and forgot to turn it off, and within 6 hours, the battery was as flat as a pancake????

There's no 'sleep' mode - if the main switch is in the on position, the camera is on. You can adjust the 'auto meter-off delay' in menu c2 (v/f displays turn off) and LCD 'monitor off delay' in c4. The camera is still on though.

that definitely doesn't sound right.... make sure you charge the battery fully :/

That's what I was thinking. The D3s should do around 4,200 shots on an EN-EL4a, so I'd have thought it would take longer than 6hrs to flatten one when the camera is not in use.

Sounds like a duff battery - or it wasn't charged properly.

Not sure but i think the battery may have been charged up the previous night, and the conditioning button had been pressed by mistake, which i believe simply drains tha battery, before giving it a full re-charge. I then got up for work at 4 am, and by 10 am the battery appeared dead. My mistake! LOL! :nuts:
