I don't see a thread on here for this beast! Have any of you here taken the plunge and gone for one over the D800? Looking towards a D800 myself soon, hopefully. But I can't help admiring the D4. I find myself watching videos on it as much as the D800. The price is ridonkulous of course, and it would probably mean the difference of one less pro lens. Say I buy the D800 + 24-70 and 70-200, with the D4 I'd have to choose either or, maybe get a cheaper prime instead of the 24-70. The 28mm 1.8 looks pretty decent for even the latest FX sensors.
I know I always say lens first, body second, but that high ISO performance of the D4, and the file sizes not being so gigantic ... it is very tempting, if you were to have the funds.
One thing though, it would save on laptop/desktop upgrading. I reckon I would need to get a new machine to process those huge RAW files with the D800. This may run up to near value of one of those lenses, as I would want something fast. An i7 quad with 8-16GB RAM and a huge HDD, maybe SSD hybrid or whatever [I'm not all that up on laptops] I just know my current i3 intel, with 6GB RAM can struggle at times when I open LR4 + CS5 and process D90 RAW files.
In the end I'll probably go for the cheaper option. But still, can't help looking and wondering if the D4 would be the best option.
