Nikon D40 question

Hi, I've been registered for a few months but haven't posted before but I have a question ad was wondering/hoping someone could help me.

For a few weeks now my D40 has been acting strange, when I look through the viewfinder it's always blurry, even when it is focused properly, I know it's focused properly as I take a picture and it comes out perfect. It's just annoying that it always looks blurry when I try to take photos. Is it a lens problem(still the kit lens), or a camera problem?

I'm wanting to upgrade lenses, or camera in a few months time, so I would like to try and figure out what's wrong first.

Have you checked the diopeter? I think the d40 has one on the side of the viewfinder to adjust if you wear glasses. You might have knocked it.

Yes, that definitely sounds like the diopeter.

Well if the shots come out fine then it's not going to be the lens.

My guess would be that you've knocked the 'dioptre' adjustment next to the eyepiece of the viewfinder.
