Yes
So I've just noticed some pixels but would like some sort of confirmation and advice. Below are the pixels in question:

What would you advise? I wouldn't mind having to just spot remove them all the time but is it likely to get worse or is that just not done? I haven't been in contact with Nikon as of yet.

My other main question is, should I send it in for repair and they can't, what are the odds of them replacing it? I realise the D40 is discontinued so maybe they may send a D5000 instead (just kidding)?;)

I have not noticed these before so no idea how long they've been there and I'm not too fussed if they're just the norm, just trying my luck for a new camera hehe.

After a quick think I realised that the ISO was at 1600 and when tested at 400 they have gone, I guess problem solved but then why are they there anyway and is there anything to be done.

If its what im thinking it is, its hot pixels its a problem nikons generally get at high iso long exposures theres actually a setting somewhere called long exposure nr, this doubles the length of the exposure iirc but eliminates 99% of hot pixels

Yep it's normal, they can actually come and go, which I find odd.
I've only ever noticed about 2 or 3 in 60,000 shots.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't fancy sending away my beloved. I guess I'll just have to spot remove them should they become a problem. Glad it's nothing too drastic, just an annoyance.
