Does anybody know how many shutter releases the D40 is tested to?

More than you'll ever need...trust me...and if it breaks they will fix it...
 
I don't see why so much emphasis is put on shutter counts. If you're purchasing a camera then fair enough as it can be a good indication of usage, but in general, as with all electrical devices, they can go at any time.
 
Well i was just hoping mine was going to die soon to be honest! The sooner it dies, the sooner i get a nicer camera. :thumbs: but im guessing 17000 is no where near what it is tested to?
 
ahhhhhhhhh....it all becomes clear...

Just buy the new camera...you want it; you need it; it sings to you in your dreams; your life is incomplete without it...we don't need to justify our purchases...life's too short...just buy it...

I wish i could, but my next camera will be a D700 so i also need new FX lenses! and it is gonna cost me a lot :nuts:
